The tongue can be a small part of the body, but it can cause both good and harm. "The tongue has the power of life and death(proverbs 18:21)" From the beginning, we can find the power of words in the holy bible. God speaks, and everything evolved; the sun, the moon, stars, water, land, trees, animals. He used words as a tool for creation. Satan came in the form of a snake and spoke to Eve about eating the apple. Here we can see God speaks on giving life, and Satan speaks to bring sin and death; In the same way, we have power over our tongue to decide whether we need to talk about life or death. As a child of God, our words should be life–defining and give value to others. Ephesians 4:29 says, "When you talk, do not say harmful things. But say what people need – words that will become others stronger".
We need to be more careful when we throw an opinion as it can be a life-changing word for anyone listening to us. Always pray to God to give wisdom for speech as you start your day; let your words bless someone. Let your speech build up people's lives and offering grace to their life. Let your tongue sets the tone for your life, and May reflects on your lifestyle. Life-giving speech adds value to your life and keeps you out of trouble. Proverbs 21: 23 says, "A person, who is careful about what he says, keeps himself out of trouble." How many of you get into trouble because of what we say in anger or without thinking. Everyone encourages us to tell what is in our mind, but always think about how much it can impact others' lives. James 1:19 says, "My dear brothers, always be willing to listen and slow to speak. Do not become angry easily". The words that we throw on others cannot be taken back; if we think it happened by mistake and are not ready to apologize, it might ruin our lives and other's lives. Proverbs 4:23 says, "Be very careful what you think. Your thoughts run your life". What we think came out in words. So let your mind help you feel good and bless others. We do not have the right to hate or to speak negatively about something that God has created. Jesus came to earth and gave his life for us, not because we are lovable, its because God loves us and because of his amazing grace. Let us use our tongue to speak faith, praising God, bless others and let your words become an encouragement for others. May these words bless everyone in Jesus's name, AMEN.
